EOTD: Neutrals with a kick...

As you can tell, I am in a "neutrals" phase at the moment, but I wanted to jazz it up a little. Please do click on the picture below to enlarge it, the colors are simply stunning (atleast to me:))

Items used:
  • Lid and brow bone: you wont believe the color I have used..Wet n Wild Bronzer/Highlighter in Acapulco Glow..It's freaking awesome!! Pack it on the lid densely
  • Crease: Soft wash of MAC Cork, then intensify it with MAC Espresso
  • Outer V: MAC Embark (or Handwritten)
  • Warerline: apply any black kohl and MAC Rebel Rock Blue pigment (its the bright blue). Use it wet for intensity. I applied it over my bottom lashes for fun:)
Did you like the look? Do you like Wet n Wild Acapulco Glow on the lids as much as I do?

By the way, Wet n Wild Acapulco Glow makes an awesome highlighter for the cheeks as well.

My nail polish collection

Love of the week: Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme

I am always searching for products that give me a luminous effect. I love using the Revlon Skinlights, NARS Albatross, MAC Vanilla and Melon pigments for this, but I was looking for something to give me a soft "candlelight-from-within" kind of a look that I could wear to work.
- NARS Albatross from the list above is the only product that gives me a soft glow and has no glitter.
- MAC Vanilla has no glitter either, but is too intense for daytime
- MAC Melon has some shimmer
- Revlon Skinlights unfortunately also has some shimmer (my boss pointed this out to me..yikes!!)

Then I discovered the Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme.

It gave me a lovely peach glow without enlarging my pores, and as far as I can tell it is super finely milled, so you dont get shimmer/glitter residue on your face. According to Jemma Kidd "This light-diffusing crème can be used all-over for a lustrous finish, for use under or over foundation or on bare skin. With added moisturising jojoba and sun filters to help protect the skin. "

It retails for around $30-$32.

Ingredients: Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Diethylhexyl Adipate, Dimethicone, Mica, Polyethylene, Candelilla Cera (Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax), Talc, Silica, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Cera Microcristillina (Microcrystalline Wax), Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Octyldodecanol, Nylon-12, Simmonsia Chinensis (Simmonsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil), Oryza Sativa (Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil), Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Cholesteryl Hydroxystearate, Methylparaben, Propyl Paraben, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Lecithin, Tocopherol, Citric Acid. May Contain/Peut Contenir [+/- CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77007 (Ultramarines)].

This look was inspired by pixiwoo on Youtube.

  • Lid: Wash of SportsGirl eyeshadow in Shady Lady (this brand is only available in Australia, I believe). You can use any Peachy gold color, like MAC Melon pigment
  • Line upper lashline with with any black liquid liner. I have used a felt tip one from Prestige.
  • Waterline: BB gel liner in black
  • Loads of mascara - Maybelline define a lash (hot pink tube)
  • The key feature of this look is a STRONG brow. Darken it with a matte dark brown shade. Read this post on how I shape and maintain my brows.

Love of the week: Givenchy Magic Kajal Eye Pencil

I love my Stila Kajal in Onyx and MAC Feline kohl, but I was looking for a fat kohl pencil. I have fallen head over heel Givenchy Magic Kajal Eye Pencil.

It's super dark, goes on the waterline line a dream!! It does tend to smudge a bit, like all kohls do. To prevent that set the kohl below the waterline with a dark matte black eyeshadow, like MAC Carbon or NYX Black single eyeshadow. I highly recommend trying this product out! It's brillant for creating a smoky eye super quickly.

What it does:
Givenchy Magic Kajal Eye Pencil reveals the beauty of eyes with a very intense carbon black shade to apply around the inner rim of the eyelides. Inspired by the kajal used by Indian women, the pencil contains wax and oil—making the texture creamy and generous. The formula is enriched with vitamin E for a smooth application and is long-lasting—allowing your dark, eye-catching look to last all day.
